Revolutionizing Community Spaces: The Kaisa Yuebanshan

Shenzhen Tianhua and Kaisa Group Co.,Ltd. Redefine Community Center Design

The Kaisa Yuebanshan, a community center located in Zhongshan, is a testament to the innovative spirit of Shenzhen Tianhua and Kaisa Group Co.,Ltd. The designers have drawn inspiration from the local culture of Zhongshan, incorporating elements of the architectural layout and cultural connotations of the Chen Family Ancestral Hall. They envisioned the Life Aesthetics Hall to be a multi-dimensional space that could accommodate the daily public life of the community.

What sets the Kaisa Yuebanshan apart from other community centers is its unique design. The designers cleverly utilized the site's large elevation difference to create a three-story volume, connecting two terraces with a height difference of about 4 meters. This design decision has resulted in a community center that offers public spaces with different functions on two floors, providing more life scenes for the community.

The realization of this design required the use of a 12-meter large span structure and a 5-meter cantilever structure to ensure the comfort of the space. The structure and shape of the second floor were designed in an integrated manner, hiding the structure inside the column. This innovative approach to design and construction has resulted in a space that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

The Kaisa Yuebanshan project, which covers a total of 2100 square meters, started in March 2020 and was completed in April 2021. The design team, led by Chief Designer Zheng Jian and assisted by Li Shengpeng, Du Bangguo, Xu Yixiang, and Xue Ming, faced several challenges during the design and construction process. However, they were able to overcome these challenges and create a space that truly reflects the real daily life of residents.

The Kaisa Yuebanshan is more than just a community center. The Kaisa Yuebanshan was awarded the Golden A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2022, a prestigious accolade granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations.
